Good grief, I'm having another card changing moment...

While looking up symbolism and colors for the Death card, I stumbled on this at wikipedia (emphasis mine):

Death is associated through its cross-sum (the sum of the digits) with Key 4: The Emperor. This takes us back to Sir Fraizer’s story of The King of the Golden Bough. This was a priest of Zeus (the Ur-avatar of The Emperor) who got his position by killing his predecessor, then spent the rest of his term patrolling a grove with a naked sword. The Emperor takes power through death; wields power through death; is brought to power through death. The law tells us that power to take life is an inherent attribute of sovereignty. Contrast with The Empress, whose power is predicated on life, life, life.

The Emperor builds, structures, the ego, power. Death takes them all down. Ebb and flow.

DUDE.
I have to revert again to one of my original choices and make Lucius the Emperor. He doesn't match perfectly with Molly, who is still so incredibly the Empress, but WOW. I had a lot of trouble with Arthur as the Emperor, he felt shoe-horned into that card.

Hmmmmm.  Deep thoughts.

Wow! Just, wow!

That's a whole new take on The Emperor. Because of it's rigidity, & it's implication of patriarchy and traditions, I thought of Lucius - but this is wow! Ties in beautifully with Lucius as Death Eater and Lucius as the figure controlling the Ministry (although that is from behind the scenes - sort of. Actually, it is pretty blatant in GoF though - he controls the Ministry without having to bother with tiresome paperwork/administration)

Narcissa as Empress works for me also - the connection with life/fecundity - she is ruled by her role as mother - it defines her actions.
Although I love Molly as the Empress so very much - the abundance!

Hm, you're right - Narcissa has that Motherhood thing going for her, AND she has all of the material abundance that Molly lacks.
I'll have to do some more research and some pondering on the Empress to see which one of the two matches better.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if I ended up with the Malfoys in the Majors? Hah! Love it.

That would mean a new figure for the Queen/Leader of Cups would be needed, though, I think. I'm not sure if the courts blatantly repeat any of the majors...

Queen of Cups - that's a tough call, as I believe Narcissa is the obvious choice.
Andromeda? That doesn't feel right - besides she might have been sorted into Hufflepuff like Tonks, I don't know.
And I don't like Umbridge or Bellatrix there... tough call.

I like Lucius as Emperor with Molly-Empress since they describe to very opposing poles.

to me the Empress is the abundant goddess, generous and fruitful, but she can kick ass as needed. Molly, yes? :)

Lucius has that imperious manner, and represents an archaic and ultimately unbalanced patriarchal authority. besides, he's so pretty!

works for me!

Man, I can see the Emperor composition coming together in my head now...

I think you've got a great idea there with the Lucius-Molly dichotomy. They do anchor opposite poles, and they both upend their stereotypes in the books to reach the shadow places of their archetype as well.

Fun fun!
